Alice Wright’s passion is photographing families. For many years she practiced as a family portrait photographer and now has directed her considerable skills to documenting the cultural geography of our planet. Widely traveled, Alice Wright has the ability to form a trusting bond with people she encounters on her journeys and this rapport is reflected in her photographs.
She produces her stunning color exhibition prints on an Epson 5500 archival printer with pigment ink sets that have an estimated lifespan of over 100 years---one of the most archival of all color processes. Her work is in the collection of many individuals and institutions including the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin, the Center for Contemporary Arts and Grace Museum of Abilene. She lives with her husband, photographer/writer Bill Wright, in Abilene, Texas and Santa Fe New Mexico. |
